Linden’s ROV Fiber Optic Tether

Linden Photonics is renowned for its innovative fiber-optic solutions, specifically designed for Remote Operated Vehicles (ROVs). These ROV tethers are crucial in underwater applications, offering high performance, durability, and reliability in challenging environments.

For use with ROV’s (Remote Operated Vehicles) and other underwater vehicles, the LINDEN-SPE-7098 tether is a premium ROV fiber optic cable. At 3.5mm in diameter, it has a tensile strength of more than 350 kg, and its density nearly matches that of seawater. The basic building block of the cable lies in the STFOC (Strong Tether Fiber Optic Cable) at its center. This patented technology relies on a jacket of extruded LCP (liquid crystal polymer) designed to provide strength and moisture protection to an otherwise delicate, bare fiber-optic element.

Surrounding this center fiber-optic element are torque-balanced Vectran strength members. This ROV cable is finished with a ruggedized, low-density polymer outer jacket.  Particularly with our STFOC cables, we can routinely produce single continuous lengths close to 50 km.

Our ROV cable designs are created for optimizing the mechanical, electrical and optical performance in demanding and harsh subsea environments. Our ROV cables are trusted and preferred for high quality, safety and reliability.

Linden’s ROV Tethers can include fiber optics, electrical conductors, coax, twisted pairs, shield, water block and aramid fillers. Linden Photonics manufacturers a variety of ROV tethers using proven methods and components for power, data, video and etc. at short lead times and competitive pricing since 2002.

Linden’s team of engineers works closely with customers and their application requirements to provide the most reliable cable solutions for high performance ROV’s used in defense, mine detection, finding shipwrecks and other marine or inspection applications. We continue to meet the changing needs of our customers with our quality services delivered beyond our customers’ expectations. We are happy to provide custom solutions because one cable does not fit all!
